Abstract:

Recent work by TERI has estimated that the country is losing over 10% of its GDP in the form of environmental damage. The danger is that this cost could increase over time if the current pattern of growth and development continues. Unfortunately, the worst sufferers of natural resource depletion and degradation are the poorest sections of society.
