Abstract:

Dr Pachauri writes that two important facets that we have to take into consideration while drawing up a map for the future. Firstly, the level of awareness, particularly among the young, is now at an all time high. This implies that a movement to meet the challenge can be generated from the grassroots level. Thus the changes effected would have a far wider reach and greater impact. Secondly, the economic crisis that has become a matter of great anxiety to the world. It is a distraction and is affecting our everyday life. People are unable to think with certainty. Obviously, business cannot work in its usual manner at present.
