Planet Earth is endangered today, and with it' the future of humankind. Climatic changes in the global environment, induced by emissions of greenhouse gas (GHG) have issued the final warning to inhabitants of this vast and unique planet. ln order to evolve a concentrated approach to combat global warming, by the developed and developing nations, the Asian f energy institute (AEl) organized two workshops during 1990. This book forms the combined volume of the proceedings of the workshops held in India and Italy and would be an invaluable document for the UNCED Conference to be held in Brazil in 1992'
