Abstract:

One aspect of globalization that would find much greater interest and attention from leaders of public opinion and from various walks of life are the global economy and equity dimensions of climate change. The causes of human-induced climate change are now well established, and are explained in the Working Group I contribution to the Fourth Assessment Report (AR4) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). It is now established that 'Warning of the climate system is unequivocal, as is now evident from observations of increase in global average air and ocean temperatures, widespread melting of snow and ice, and rising global mean sea level. '
