Abstract:
I was in Pakistan last week, and this was one of several trips that I have made to that country. This time, of course, it was different, because I went over land through the Wagah Border which is a very interesting experience. On my return I came through the same route, and there were of course a large number of journalists and TV cameras on both sides of the border. As it happens, I walked across just a little interval apart from the return of Surjeet Singh, the prisoner who I believe spent about thirty years in Pakistani jails. Fortunately, I was not mistaken for him and managed to come across without any attention from the media on either side.
